The 2022-2023 NBA regular season will be ending on April 9. Beginning April 11, the Play-In tournament will officially begin. During these games, punters can wager on March Madness odds until the games end on April 14. Then the playoffs begin on Sunday, April 15. The NBA Play-In tournament is similar to the UEFA Europa League of Soccer, and diehard basketball fans will be heading to their favorite Mesa sports bar and grill to enjoy the games on the big screen with their fellow enthusiasts to cheer on their favorite teams.

What Is The Play-In Tournament?
The NBA Play-In runs from April 11-14, 2023. The tournament is the first round of the playoff competition and happens right before the NBA Playoffs, which will begin on April 15 of this year. At the NBA Play-In, a competition will determine the seventh and eighth seeds in each bracket between the teams who finished the regular season between 7th and 10th place. The Play-In tournament will determine the last two playoff spots in the Eastern and Western conference regions. To qualify for the playoffs, the clubs in each conference with the 9th and 10th highest number of points will need to win two consecutive games.
When Will The 2023 NBA Play-In Tournament Be Held?

How Does the NBA Play-In Tournament Work?
The teams who finished in the top 6 in their NBA conference at the end of the regular season will be guaranteed a playoff spot. To qualify for the playoffs, the teams who are ranked in 7th through 10th places will need to participate in the play-in.
The team that holds the highest win percentage from each league will hold the eighth seed. The winner of that game will receive 7th place in the playoffs. The team that loses will be able to play after the 9th and 10th place matchup to try again for their playoff seat.
The 10th seed will be hosted by the team that finishes ninth in the conference by winning percentage. The team who loses that game will be eliminated from the playoffs, while the winner will play the loser of the 7th vs. 8th game.
The team who wins the 9th vs. 10th game will face the winner of the third game; whoever loses that game will be eliminated and must be placed in the lottery. To qualify for the postseason tournament, the 9th or 10th-place team will need to win two consecutive games.
What Happens Next After The Play-In Tournament?
The NBA playoffs will start with the typical 16-team, best-out-of-seven series format after the entries have been finalized by the Play-In tournament. The 7th and 8th place seeds for each conference will go to the teams who win the Play-In tournament. The 2023 NBA Playoffs will begin Sunday, April 15, immediately following the Play-In tournament, and will conclude around June 18.
